Council Tax and Benefit Collector

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Debt Recovery Specialist to join our team at Powys County Council. As a key member of our revenue assurance team, you will play a vital role in collecting and recovering Council Tax, Business Rates, Sundry Debts & Housing Benefit Overpayments. With your expertise in debt recovery and customer contact procedures, you will ensure that income is received promptly & efficiently in accordance with current legislation and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
• Analyze debt streams and determine the most effective means of recovery
• Develop and implement strategies to recover debts from customers
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless communication and information sharing
• Provide exceptional customer service and support
What You Will Need:
• 2+ years of experience in debt recovery or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Estimated Salary: £28,000 per annum
