About the Role

We are seeking an ALN Team Support Specialist to join our team within Powys County Council. As a key member of our Additional Learning Needs (ALN) team, you will provide vital support and guidance to families of children and young people with ALN.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide families with information and guidance on ALN-related issues, including signposting to relevant agencies.
  • E nsure parents/carers and children/young people are at the centre of all planning and reviews.
  • Act as the main point of contact for families known to the service within a region.
  • Co-ordinate advice and reports to inform decision-making within ALN panels.
Requirements
  • Experience of liaising with professionals and outside agencies.
  • Working knowledge of external and internal policy and practice relating to ALN.
  • Commitment and enthusiasm for the service area with a strong drive to secure improved outcomes.
What You Will Do

As an ALN Team Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to families, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and resources to navigate the ALN system.

You will work closely with our ALN Casework Manager to ensure that all statutory timescales are met in relation to individual development plans (IDPs).

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with families, schools, and other stakeholders.

In return, we offer a competitive salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits and opportunities for professional development.
