HR Specialist Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Specialist to join our team at Reaseheath College. As an HR Specialist, you will provide generalist HR advice, support, and guidance to managers and staff in your business areas, including recruitment, absence, conditions of service, policies, employment legislation, and best practice.

You will work closely with the in-house Payroll Team and be responsible for preparing and checking monthly HR information ready for payroll. You will work under the line management of the HR Manager, who will actively coach you within this role.

In addition, you will work alongside the Learning and Development Business Partner and Diversity and Inclusion Manager and support them in taking forward the learning and development and equality, diversity, and inclusion agendas for the college.

Experience of working within the Education sector, and knowledge of safer recruitment and safeguarding in relation to young people is desirable.

The College offers a great range of benefits, including a CARE pension scheme with an employer contribution of 24.8%, free car parking, free tea and coffee, generous annual leave entitlement, Christmas closure, and a Sodexo reward scheme.

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor with a desire to progress to HR Business Partner within 3 years. The College will provide financial support to cover the cost of the Level 7 CIPD qualification as part of a three-year career plan.

You will progress through the two years of study and a final year of consolidation before gaining the position of HR Business Partner. The College will ensure that you have all the exposure and opportunity necessary to gain your qualification and expand your generalist HR skillset.

This is an ambitious career plan, and you will need to be dedicated and passionate about HR with the willingness to study alongside a full-time role.

The successful candidate will join our busy and thriving college, which employs over 600 staff. The HR and Payroll team has a very collaborative approach to work, and lives and breathes the College's PRIDE values: people, responsibility, integrity, diversity, excellence.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a problem solver, with the ability to quickly build relationships with internal and external customers. You will already have some experience of working in HR, and you should be a member of the CIPD and qualified to Level 5 or equivalent. You should have a high level of IT skills and be a competent user of HR software packages.

As an HR Specialist, you will be responsible for providing HR advice, support, and guidance to managers and staff in your business areas. You will work closely with the in-house Payroll Team and be responsible for preparing and checking monthly HR information ready for payroll.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing generalist HR advice, support, and guidance to managers and staff
  • Working closely with the in-house Payroll Team
  • Preparing and checking monthly HR information ready for payroll
  • Supporting the Learning and Development Business Partner and Diversity and Inclusion Manager

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates. Please note that this role constitutes 'regulated activity' as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment.

You must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this.
