Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a motivated Corrections Officer to join our team. As a Corrections Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of the public, staff, and supervisees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide security for adult supervisees at the institution and during transport
  • Supervise daily activities, observe and record behavior, and ensure safe and secure confinement
  • Interact with visitors, staff, and the public to maintain orderly operations

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures
  • Ability to lawfully possess a firearm in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Additional Considerations

  • Stable employment history
  • Military or related criminal justice experience
  • Coursework at a community college, college, or university

Working Conditions
