Hotel Receptionist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hotel Receptionist to join our front office team at The Grand Hotel. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience from the moment they arrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, outlining the facilities of the hotel.
  • Check in and out guests efficiently and professionally using Opera Cloud.
  • Advise all departments of any special requests by guests, such as dinner reservations or room service.
  • Correctly post all charges to individual guest rooms.
  • Inform the Duty Manager of any guest queries, complaints, or suggestions.
  • Handle safe deposit for guests and deal with foreign exchange and monies at the desk.
  • Oversee that all departmental floats are signed in and out correctly.
  • Attend all departmental and hotel training courses and meetings as required.
  • Pass over correct and detailed information to the following shift pass-over.
  • Update Opera on serviced and out-of-service rooms by liaising with the Accommodation Department.
Requirements:
  • Good knowledge of Opera PMS, ideally Opera Cloud version.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a busy hotel reception.
  • Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
