About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Patient Services Assistant to join our team at Tean Surgery. As a key member of our administration team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our doctors and nurses.

Main Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct patients and visitors, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Manage appointments, including making and cancelling appointments, and issuing appointment cards.
  • Handle incoming correspondence, including letters, forms, and specimen bottles, and ensure accurate recording and processing.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to patient queries and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Register new patients, temporary residents, and emergency patients, and ensure accurate recording of patient information.
  • Process payments for private medical services and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, scanning, and filing, to ensure efficient and accurate record-keeping.
  • Act as a chaperone as required, and maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.

Requirements

  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English, Grade C/4 or above.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including experience with EMIS or equivalent clinical systems.
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy, with ability to work accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
