Patient Services Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Patient Services Assistant to join our team at Tean Surgery. As a key member of our administration team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support.
Main Responsibilities:- Greet and direct patients and visitors, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment.
- Manage appointments, including making and confirming bookings, and issuing appointment cards.
- Handle incoming correspondence, including letters, forms, and specimen bottles, and ensure accurate recording and processing.
- Provide information and support to patients, including explaining surgery procedures and handling general enquiries.
- Register new patients, temporary residents, and emergency patients, and ensure accurate recording of patient information.
- Make telephone calls to patients, hospitals, and clinics to obtain test results and make appointments.
- Order ambulances, both routine and emergency, and take messages and record details accurately.
- Perform computer data entry, data allocation, and collation, and ensure accurate recording of information in accordance with practice procedures.
- Scan information into patient records from letters and other documents.
- Act as a chaperone as necessary, with relevant training and an active DBS.
- Open and secure the premises, and maintain a tidy and organized reception area.
Tean Surgery is a GP practice based across two sites in Tean and Blythe Bridge, serving a patient list of approximately 6,900. Our team includes 3 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 3 Practice Nurses, and a well-established administration team.
