Job Title: Patient Services Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Assistant to join our team at Tean Surgery. As a key member of our administration team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and direct patients and visitors, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Manage appointments, including making and confirming bookings, and issuing appointment cards.
  • Handle incoming correspondence, including letters, forms, and specimen bottles.
  • Respond to general enquiries and provide information on practice procedures.
  • Register new patients, temporary residents, and emergency patients, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Process and record information in accordance with practice procedures, using our EMIS clinical system.
  • Provide administrative support to the practice team, including data entry, filing, and photocopying.
  • Act as a chaperone as required, ensuring patient confidentiality and dignity.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed, including opening and closing the practice, and maintaining a tidy and organized reception area.
Requirements:
  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English, Grade C/4 or above.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in EMIS or similar clinical systems.
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive and methodical approach to tasks.
  • Good team player with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work flexibly as required.
