Job Title: Patient Services Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Assistant to join our team at Tean Surgery. As a key member of our administration team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our doctors and nurses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and direct patients and visitors, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Make appointments and issue appointment cards, ensuring accurate and timely scheduling.
  • Accept and process patient correspondence, including letters and forms.
  • Handle general patient inquiries and provide information on surgery procedures.
  • Register new patients, temporary residents, and emergency patients, ensuring accurate and secure data entry.
  • Manage telephone calls, including making appointments and contacting patients for test results.
  • Order ambulances and take messages, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Perform data entry and data allocation, ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Scan information into patient records and maintain accurate and secure data.
  • Act as a chaperone as needed, ensuring patient comfort and dignity.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including securing the premises and checking the heating system.
Requirements:
  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English, Grade C/4 or above.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in EMIS or equivalent clinical systems.
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • Ability to work to high standards in administration.
  • Proactive and methodical approach to tasks.
  • Good team player with ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as requested.
