Your Role as a Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a recent Psychology or Criminology graduate to join our support team as a Teaching Assistant. In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and other experienced staff members to educate our pupils. You will help manage any challenging behaviors that arise and work on a one-to-one basis to ensure they are on task.
Mental Health Support
You will play a crucial role in identifying potential triggers for our students' trauma and mental health needs. To achieve this, you will need to be proactive, resilient, and passionate about mental health support. Your daily duties will involve helping our students manage their emotions in a healthy manner, enabling them to regulate and process their feelings and cope independently in the future.
Therapeutic Techniques and Restorative Practices
You will have the opportunity to facilitate various therapeutic techniques and employ restorative practices aimed at promoting mental well-being. You will also work alongside Psychologists and Therapists based at the school, setting you apart from other graduates.
Requirements and Benefits
- A recent Psychology or Criminology graduate with a genuine interest in supporting children with psychological needs.
- Previous experience working with children and/or adults with additional needs would be beneficial.
- The ideal candidate will be proactive, friendly, and passionate about mental health.
- An estimated salary of £80-£90 per day.
- A supportive and dynamic work environment.
- The opportunity to work alongside experienced staff members and develop your skills as a graduate psychologist.
