Special Needs Support Worker

A fulfilling opportunity has arisen for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join the team at our Special Needs School in Salisbury. As an enthusiastic and passionate individual, you will work closely with one child who has a primary diagnosis of Autism, as well as other associated additional needs.
In this rewarding role, you will help the student engage in classroom activities and develop their independence. You will also assist the student in building positive relationships with other pupils and aid them with both their verbal and non-verbal communication.
The ideal candidate will be a Psychology Graduate or experienced Teaching Assistant/Carer looking to further their experience with SEND. Any experience working with Autism would be beneficial, whether professional or personal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a child with Autism
- Assist the class teacher and offer support to other pupils when needed
- Help the student engage in classroom activities and develop their independence
- Aid the student in building positive relationships with other pupils
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with Autism
- Relevant degree in Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient and empathetic approach
Salary: £80-£90 per day
