Urology Specialist Nurse Role

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's Transformation Unit seeks an accomplished Urology Specialist Nurse to join their Diagnostic team at Churchill Hospital in Oxford.

This position offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated nurse to contribute to high-quality patient care within a dynamic team, focusing on patients with suspected bladder and prostate cancer.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement effective diagnostic pathways for patients with suspected prostate cancer.
  2. Manage referrals, conduct telephone clinics, and collaborate with the Faster Diagnostic Clinical Navigator to optimize patient outcomes.
  3. Coordinate imaging requests, interpret MRI results, and make informed decisions regarding prostate biopsy.
  4. Oversee post-prostatectomy follow-up clinics, advising patients on transitioning to Patient-Led Follow-Up.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A degree in nursing, midwifery, or a related field.
  • Student assessor and supervisor training.
  • Relevant urology experience (Band 7).
  • Ongoing professional development.
  • Non-Medical Prescriber registration.

The expected annual salary for this role is £43,141 - £62,465, contingent on experience.
