Keeper of World Cultures
We are seeking a dynamic Keeper of World Cultures to lead our department in managing the museum's vast collection of global artifacts. As a respected authority in your field, you will be responsible for guiding the department's curatorial and academic work, fostering innovative approaches to engage audiences and advance human knowledge.
- In this role, you will leverage your expertise to ensure the collection's safety and security, working closely with colleagues to identify areas for improvement.
- You will develop strategic plans to enhance the Museum's global reputation, driving high-quality research and engagement initiatives that showcase the collection's significance.
- Suitable candidates will possess significant management experience and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, as well as a strong understanding of the Museum's values and goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to collaborate effectively with colleagues, ensuring seamless coordination across departments.
- Evidence of international recognition as a scholar in a relevant field is expected, alongside a deep appreciation of the Museum's mission and vision.
About the Job
This is an exceptional opportunity to join the Nationalmuseums and contribute to the preservation and promotion of global cultures. We offer a competitive salary range £55,000 - £75,000 per annum, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
- Annual leave allowance of 25 days plus 2.5 privilege days and bank holidays.
- Membership of the civil service defined benefit pension scheme.
- Participation in private and public Museum events, providing unique insights into the Museum's collections and operations.
