About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Palliative Medicine Fellow to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Palliative Medicine Fellow, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our palliative care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care to patients with palliative care needs, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of palliative care policies and procedures, ensuring that they are evidence-based and aligned with national guidelines.
  • Participate in education and training programs for healthcare professionals, sharing your expertise and knowledge to enhance the skills and confidence of others.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, focusing on areas such as symptom management, end-of-life care, and patient experience.
  • Contribute to research and audit activities, exploring new and innovative ways to improve palliative care services and outcomes.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • MB ChB/MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • GMC registration
  • MRCP/MRCGP or equivalent specialist qualification
  • Experience of working in palliative care, preferably in a hospital or hospice setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
