About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Palliative Medicine Fellow to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Palliative Medicine Fellow, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our palliative care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care to patients with palliative care needs, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of palliative care policies and procedures, ensuring that they are evidence-based and aligned with national guidelines.
  • Participate in education and training activities, including teaching and mentoring junior staff, to ensure that palliative care knowledge and skills are shared and developed across the team.
  • Conduct research and quality improvement projects to improve palliative care outcomes and services, working closely with the research and quality improvement teams.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement innovative solutions to improve patient care and outcomes.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • MB ChB/MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • GMC registration
  • MRCP/MRCGP or equivalent specialist qualification
  • Experience of palliative medicine and/or palliative care services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
