Hotel Events Manager Position

Job Summary:

Britannia Hotels is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Hotel Events Manager to join our team at The Britannia Aberdeen, Waterside Inn. As an events manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing successful events that meet our guests' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Conceptualization: Collaborate with the marketing and public relations departments to develop event concepts, setting clear objectives and timelines.
  • Budgeting and Logistics: Prepare and manage event budgets, invoices, and logistics, ensuring timely completion and within allocated resources.
  • Vendor Selection and Management: Select and negotiate with vendors, monitoring their activities to ensure quality control and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Promotions and Communications: Develop and implement promotions, communications, and branding strategies for events, ensuring consistent messaging and branding.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise Caterers, Junior Event Coordinators, and security teams, providing guidance and support to ensure event success.
  • Problem-Solving: Resolve problems and guest inquiries before and during the event, maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
  • Reporting and Evaluation: Approve all activities for the event and prepare reports, making presentations to management after the event.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess in-depth knowledge of wedding and event coordinating, hotel operations, and excellent communication skills.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Education and Certifications: Relevant education and certifications in hospitality, events, or a related field.

Estimated Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, benefits include career development opportunities, significant staff discount rates when staying at one of our 60 hotels in the UK, 50% discount off food and drink if staying at one of our hotels, friends and family hotel stay discounts, reduced membership at our Leisure clubs, free meals on duty (when applicable), free Uniform (if applicable to your role), up to 28 days holiday including bank holidays per annum, and auto-enrolment pension scheme.
