Job Overview

The Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to lead the fetal surveillance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving the effectiveness of fetal monitoring and intrapartum risk assessments, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to enhance care provided by staff.

Main Duties of the Job

The lead midwife will be responsible for leading on improving the standard of intrapartum risk assessment and effective fetal monitoring, in accordance with the Saving Babies' Lives Care Bundle. This will involve maintaining the Fresh Eyes and intrapartum Cardiotocography (CTG) review processes and improving compliance.

The lead will also work closely with other leads to ensure compliance and delivery against safety metrics. This will involve developing a programme of education, training, and competency testing, working closely with the Labour Ward Lead Obstetrician and Maternity Matrons.
