Job Overview

The Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Fetal Surveillance Midwife to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in improving the effectiveness of fetal monitoring and intrapartum risk assessments.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation of the Saving Babies' Lives Care Bundle, focusing on improving standards within Element 2: Risk assessment, prevention, and surveillance of pregnancies at risk of fetal growth restriction (FGR via GAP/GROW) and Element 3: Raising awareness of reduced fetal movement (RFM). Additionally, you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to collaborate on learning opportunities and developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve fetal monitoring and risk assessment practices
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care and outcomes
  • Lead the implementation of the Saving Babies' Lives Care Bundle, focusing on Elements 2 and 3
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to fetal surveillance and risk assessment

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Registration as a Midwife with the relevant professional bodyPost-registration experience, including recent Labour Ward experienceEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
