Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Midwife to join our team at the Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the improvement of intrapartum risk assessment and effective fetal monitoring, in accordance with the Saving Babies' Lives Care Bundle.

Main Responsibilities

The Lead Midwife will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to collaborate on learning opportunities and developments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on the improvement of intrapartum risk assessment and effective fetal monitoring
  • Maintaining the Fresh Eyes and intrapartum Cardiotocography (CTG) review processes
  • Improving compliance with the Saving Babies' Lives Care Bundle
  • Working closely with other leads to ensure compliance and delivery against safety metrics
  • Developing a programme of education, training, and competency testing

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • Registration as a midwife
  • Leadership skills and experience
  • Post-registration experience, including significant recent Labour Ward experience as Band 7
