Job Overview

The Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Fetal Surveillance Midwife to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in improving the effectiveness of fetal monitoring and intrapartum risk assessments.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation of the Saving Babies' Lives Care Bundle (SBLCBV2), focusing on improving standards within Element 2; Risk assessment, prevention, and surveillance of pregnancies at risk of fetal growth restriction (FGR via GAP/GROW) and Element 3: Raising awareness of reduced fetal movement (RFM). Additionally, you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to collaborate on learning opportunities and developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve fetal monitoring and risk assessment practices
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care and outcomes
  • Lead on the implementation of the Saving Babies' Lives Care Bundle (SBLCBV2)
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to fetal surveillance

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Registered Midwife
  • Post-registration experience, including recent Labour Ward experience
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
