Job Overview

The Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Midwife for Fetal Surveillance to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead on improving the standard of intrapartum risk assessment and effective fetal monitoring.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on the implementation of the Saving Babies' Lives Care Bundle (SBLCBV2) and ensuring that the care provided by staff is enhanced. They will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to collaborate on learning opportunities and developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on improving the standard of intrapartum risk assessment and effective fetal monitoring
  • Implement and maintain the Fresh Eyes and intrapartum Cardiotocography (CTG) review processes
  • Work closely with other leads to ensure compliance and delivery against safety metrics
  • Develop a programme of education, training, and competency testing

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • Registered midwife qualification
  • Leadership qualification or equivalent experience
  • Post-registration experience, including significant recent Labour Ward experience as Band 7
