Job Overview

The Division of Surgery at BHRUT NHS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to join our team as a Lead Midwife for Fetal Surveillance. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic midwife to lead on improving the standard of intrapartum risk assessment and effective fetal monitoring, in accordance with the Saving Babies' Lives Care Bundle.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on the work alongside the Labour Ward Lead Obstetrician and Maternity Matrons, the Fetal Surveillance Midwife, and the Education Team Lead in developing a programme of education, training, and competency testing. They will also be directly managing the Preterm-birth specialist midwife and have oversight of the work required in relation to Element 5 and facilitate its implementation.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will be a registered midwife with significant recent Labour Ward experience as Band 7. They will also have leadership skills, a post-registration experience, and a sound understanding of the core competency framework and local needs.
