Medical Secretary

We are seeking a highly skilled Receptionist to join our team at Higherland Surgery. As a key member of our administration department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our clinical staff and patients.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a healthcare setting, with excellent communication skills and a strong ability to work under pressure. You will be proficient in office software and electronic patient record systems, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing telephone and email inquiries, preparing patient correspondence, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. You will also provide administrative support to our GPs and other healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of the surgery.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to GPs and other healthcare professionals
• Prepare, manage, and maintain patient correspondence, including referral letters and reports
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and paper records
• Manage telephone and email inquiries, responding promptly and professionally
• Provide administrative support to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring the smooth operation of the surgery
Requirements
• Previous experience working in a healthcare setting as a medical secretary or receptionist
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in office software and electronic patient record systems
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain patient confidentiality
• Flexibility to work outside of core office hours, as required
• Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, as required by the role
Benefits
