Inorganic Cleanroom Operations Manager

The University of Cambridge's Nanofabrication Facility is a state-of-the-art cleanroom complex within the Ray Dolby Centre, the Department of Physics' flagship building on the West Cambridge Site.

The facility includes 1500m2 of clean labs ranging from ISO 3 - ISO 7, supporting research and development across a range of materials systems and technologies including both organic and inorganic semiconductor materials.

We are seeking a technical Operational Lead to primarily be responsible for the ISO 5 - ISO 7 Inorganic Cleanroom areas.

As part of the growing Nanofabrication Facility team, the successful candidate will deliver operational leadership for the inorganic Cleanrooms, providing day-to-day support, training and guidance for users and leading the facility's technical teams in the operation and maintenance of the specialist fabrication tools and associated infrastructure.

The successful candidate should have proven experience and knowledge in the operational management of a multi-user cleanroom environment for the fabrication of inorganic semiconductor devices, as well as detailed knowledge of the tools, process steps and health and safety considerations involved in such activities.

The roleholder will be responsible for health and safety and user training within the inorganic cleanroom, and should have experience of training new users in such an environment.

The roleholder will also be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the cleanroom equipment. The successful candidate will have knowledge and practical experience of repairing standard cleanroom tools.

The successful applicant will also act as the first primary contact for all users of the inorganic cleanroom. The roleholder must therefore possess excellent communication and organisational skills to ensure timely replies to potential users and that any queries or enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner.
