About the Role

The Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge is seeking a skilled Building Attendant to join its Soft Facilities team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and building management to users of the Cavendish Estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake daily cleaning and janitorial operations to support world-class research and teaching within the Department.
  • Provide specialized cleaning solutions for active laboratory and cleanroom areas, kitchens, lecture theatres, workshops, and external areas.
  • Work collaboratively with the Facilities Supervisor to ensure the smooth running of the buildings across the estate.

Requirements

  • Previous experience from a similar role within a scientific laboratory environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with staff, students, and visitors.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and use initiative to prioritize tasks when necessary.
  • Flexibility to adapt throughout the day and complete a variety of tasks.
