Broker Distribution Leader, Mid-Market

Birmingham

This role is responsible for actively managing and expanding broker relationships to accelerate profitable sales growth and retention. The successful candidate will work closely with the London Regional Underwriting teams to achieve profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to the strategic development of the UK business and its client and broker functions.
  2. Develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal leaders, clients, brokers, claim handlers, underwriters, and legal counsel.
  3. Provide guidance and seek input from others as needed to achieve the best result possible.
  4. Support the market strategy for the UK Business, working collaboratively with multiple stakeholder groups.
  5. Enhance the reputation of AXA XL Network through marketing efforts and the delivery of high-quality and original solutions.
  6. Understand broker needs and match these with AXA XL expertise and appetite.
  7. Work with underwriters to retain and grow their books of business while maintaining the highest levels of account service.
  8. Ensure broker partners deliver on agreed services within line-of-business facilities and UK and global agreements.
  9. Strengthen the quality and depth of relationships with AXA XL brokers and develop a pipeline of opportunities for AXA XL underwriting units.
  10. Champion X-sell: Support cross-sell processes to increase product density and understand appetite for each line of business.
  11. Deliver One AXA: Maximize opportunities with the broader AXA Group businesses to provide overall client solutions and revenue synergies.
  12. Monitor and report on BDL performance.
Requirements
  1. Significant experience of underwriting and insurance operations, broking, or equivalent.
  2. Proven sales and marketing skills, including presentation, development, communication, and negotiation.
  3. Global insurance market knowledge.
  4. Technical expertise in risk-managed programs, captives, and global program structures.
  5. Influencer and collaborator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Results-oriented with a sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Continuous improvement focused with a willingness to learn and improve technical skills.
