Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Regional Broker Distribution Leader to join our team at AXA XL. This role will be responsible for actively managing, expanding, and acquiring client and broker relationships, as well as working with the London Regional Underwriting teams to profitably grow the UK book of business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the strategic development of the UK business and its client and broker functions.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal leaders, clients, brokers, claim handlers, underwriters, and legal counsel.
  • Support the market strategy for the UK Business, working collaboratively with multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Enhance the reputation of AXA XL Network through marketing efforts and the delivery of high-quality and original solutions.
  • Understand broker needs and match these with AXA XL expertise and appetite.
  • Work with underwriters to retain and grow their books of business while maintaining the highest levels of account service.
  • Ensure our broker partners deliver on the agreed services within line of business facilities as well as the UK and global agreements in place.
  • Strengthen the quality and depth of relationship with AXA XL brokers and develop a pipeline of opportunities for AXA XL underwriting units.
  • Champion X-sell and deliver One AXA, maximizing opportunities with the broader AXA Group businesses to provide overall client solutions and revenue synergies to the business.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of BDLs for all of the above.

Requirements

  • Proven Sales and Marketing skills, including presentation, development, communication, and negotiation.
  • Global Insurance market knowledge, with significant experience of underwriting and insurance operations, broking, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical Expertise, including a good insurance background with knowledge of risk managed programmes, particularly the use of captives, and understanding of global programme structures and financial and operational efficiency.
  • Influencer and Collaborator, with excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Results Oriented, with the ability to approach tasks proactively and anticipate needs, think quickly, and prioritize multiple work streams without sacrificing quality.
  • Continuous Improvement Focused, with a willingness to ask questions, explore new ideas, and learn and improve technical skills and capabilities.
