Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Broker Distribution Leader to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our Client and Distribution function, you will play a critical role in driving the growth and profitability of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our broker partners, identifying opportunities to grow our business and improve our market share.
  • Work closely with our underwriting teams to ensure that our broker partners are fully supported and that our business is growing profitably.
  • Contribute to the development of our market strategy, working collaboratively with multiple stakeholder groups to ensure that our business is aligned with our overall goals.
  • Support the global broker strategy, working with the global broker management team to ensure consistency across different geographies.
  • Enhance the reputation of AXA XL Network through marketing efforts and the delivery of high-quality and original solutions.
  • Understand broker needs and match these with AXA XL expertise and appetite, articulating innovative and customized solutions to their risk management needs.
  • Work with underwriters to retain and grow their books of business while maintaining the highest levels of account service.
  • Ensure that our broker partners deliver on agreed services within line of business facilities as well as the UK and global agreements in place.
  • Strengthen the quality and depth of relationship with AXA XL brokers, developing a pipeline of opportunities for AXA XL underwriting units.
  • Champion X-sell: strongly support the cross-sell process to increase product density, understanding the appetite of each line of business and encouraging the sharing of opportunities across business lines.
  • Deliver One AXA: maximize opportunities with the broader AXA Group businesses to provide overall client solutions and revenue synergies to the business.
  • Monitor and report on BDLs' performance, following metrics and reporting for management.

Requirements

  • Experience in contributing to the strategic development of the UK business and its client and broker functions.
  • Proven sales and marketing skills, including presentation, development, communication, and negotiation.
  • Global insurance market knowledge, with significant experience of underwriting and insurance operations, broking, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical expertise, including a good insurance background with knowledge of risk managed programmes, particularly the use of captives, and understanding of global programme structures and financial and operational efficiency.
  • Influencer and collaborator, able to develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal leaders, clients, brokers, claim handlers, underwriters, and legal counsel.
  • Communicator, with excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, presentation, and influencing skills, able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of sophistication.
  • Results-oriented, able to approach tasks proactively and anticipate needs, think quickly, and prioritize multiple work streams without sacrificing quality, and act with a sense of urgency.
  • Continuous improvement-focused, willing to ask questions and explore new ideas, eager to learn, and focused on continuously improving technical skills and capabilities.
