Job Title: Education and Engagement Assistant

About the Role:

The House of Commons is seeking an Education and Engagement Assistant to join the Chamber and Participation Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality educational experiences for school groups visiting the Palace of Westminster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging face-to-face and virtual tours and workshops to school groups aged 5-18, focusing on subjects such as Citizenship, History, and Government and Politics.
  • Provide excellent customer service to visiting school groups, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Work closely with security and other staff to ensure efficient access and visitor flow, visitor comfort and safety, and the security of the building.
  • Collaborate with the Parliamentary Education Centre team to develop and deliver educational resources and activities.

Requirements:

  • Ability to deliver engaging educational content to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of working in a team environment, with a focus on customer service and visitor experience.
  • Understanding of the importance of school visits to Parliament and the role of the Chamber and Participation Team.
