Student Engagement Coordinator

This role is vital for GBS to uphold our commitment to support our students, ensuring their success in every possible way. As a Student Engagement Coordinator, you will build meaningful relationships with the students you oversee and play an essential role in guiding them through their educational experiences. You will be the primary point of contact for students seeking assistance, helping them navigate their challenges or directing them to appropriate resources when necessary. In either case, your involvement will be pivotal to their achievements.
The primary objective of this position is to facilitate student retention and progression through various academic levels, a fundamental aspect of student success at GBS. Your main responsibilities will include collaborating with the Head of Student Engagement and working alongside Student Success Tutors and relevant academic personnel to help re-engage students in their studies.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with individual students identified as disengaged to assist them in returning to effective study habits.
- Ensure all assigned students are contacted to understand the obstacles they face in their studies.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student interactions.
- Collaborate with the Head of Student Engagement and relevant academic staff to create tailored plans that encourage each student to resume their studies.
- Work with both internal and external stakeholders to keep students actively engaged in their educational pursuits.
- Adhere to professional standards and guidelines when addressing the needs of non-attending students to facilitate their re-engagement.
- Assist in the administration of surveys and compile results for analysis by the Planning, Information, and Delivery department.
- Support the Registry with induction and enrollment processes as needed.
- Be adaptable to ensure a consistent presence of Engagement Coordinators across all partnerships and campuses.
- A degree or equivalent qualification, with a solid understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practices, along with prior experience working with students in higher education, particularly mature learners.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for a diverse audience in an inclusive manner.
- Strong planning and prioritization skills to meet objectives, with a collaborative spirit to build and maintain positive relationships with students.
- High proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
- A keen attention to detail and robust organizational abilities are essential.
