Student Engagement Coordinator

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in GBS's mission to support our students, guiding them towards success in their educational endeavors.
As a Student Engagement Coordinator, you will establish meaningful relationships with the students under your guidance, playing a vital role in their academic journey. You will be the primary point of contact for students seeking assistance, helping them navigate challenges or directing them to appropriate resources when issues arise. Your involvement will be essential to their academic achievements.
The primary objective of this position is to maximize student retention and facilitate their progression through various academic levels, which is a fundamental aspect of student success at GBS. You will collaborate closely with the Head of Student Engagement and work alongside Student Success Tutors and relevant academic personnel to re-engage students in their studies.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with individual students identified as disengaged to assist them in returning to productive academic activities.
- Ensure all assigned students are contacted to understand the obstacles they face in their studies.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student interactions and progress.
- Collaborate with the Head of Student Engagement and relevant academic staff to create tailored plans that encourage students to resume their studies.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to promote ongoing student engagement.
- Adhere to professional standards and guidelines when addressing the needs of non-attending students to facilitate their re-engagement.
- Support the administration of surveys and assist in the collection of data for analysis by the Planning, Information, and Delivery department.
- Assist with the induction and enrollment processes as needed.
- Be adaptable to ensure a consistent presence of Student Engagement Coordinators across all partnerships and campuses.
- A degree or equivalent qualification, along with knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practices, is essential. Previous experience working with students in higher education, particularly with mature learners, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for a diverse audience in an inclusive manner.
- Proficient in planning and prioritizing tasks effectively to meet objectives, with a collaborative approach to teamwork and the ability to foster positive relationships with students.
- High level of computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities are crucial.
