Student Engagement Coordinator

If so, consider the opportunity to join GBS as a Student Engagement Coordinator. This role is vital for GBS in fulfilling our promise to support our students, ensuring their success in every aspect of their educational journey. As a Student Engagement Coordinator, you will develop meaningful connections with the students you support, guiding them through their academic experience. You will be the primary point of contact for students seeking assistance, helping them navigate challenges or directing them to appropriate resources when necessary. Your contribution will be instrumental in their achievements.
The main objective of this position is to maximize student retention and facilitate progression through various academic levels, which is essential for student success at GBS. You will work closely under the guidance of the Head of Student Engagement, collaborating with Student Success Tutors and relevant academic personnel to re-engage students in their studies.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with individual students identified as disengaged to encourage their return to effective study habits.
- Ensure all assigned students are contacted to understand the challenges they face in their studies.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of interactions and progress.
- Work alongside the Head of Student Engagement and academic staff to create tailored plans that support each student's return to their studies.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote student involvement in their academic pursuits.
- Adhere to professional standards and guidelines when addressing the needs of non-attending students to facilitate their re-engagement.
- Assist in the administration of surveys and the collection of data for analysis by the Planning, Information, and Delivery department.
- Support the Registry with onboarding and enrollment processes as needed.
- Be adaptable to ensure a consistent presence of Student Engagement Coordinators across all partnerships and campuses.
- A degree or equivalent qualification, with knowledge of safeguarding laws and best practices, along with prior experience working with students in higher education, particularly mature learners.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for a diverse audience in an inclusive manner.
- Strong planning and prioritization skills to meet objectives, with a collaborative approach to teamwork and the ability to foster positive relationships with students.
- High proficiency in computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
- A keen attention to detail and robust organizational capabilities are essential.
