Job Title: SEN Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs in a school setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, preferably with SEN students.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Support students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities.
  2. Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, ensuring all pupils are actively engaged and supported.
  3. Help with behavioural management and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children, preferably with SEN students.
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
  • An understanding of the needs of students with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other special educational needs is desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs or Teaching Assistant (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is an advantage but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work on a day-to-day basis in a school setting, supporting children with a range of special educational needs. They will work closely with the class teacher to deliver lessons and provide individualised care and attention.

Salary and Benefits:

This role offers a competitive daily rate based on experience (£20-£25 per hour). Ongoing support and professional development opportunities are also available.
