Experienced SEN Education Assistant

We are looking for an experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Education Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. As an SEN Education Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to children with SEN in various local primary schools.

Job Overview:

This role involves working closely with classroom teachers to implement education plans and adapt learning materials to meet the unique needs of each child. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children with SEN, excellent communication skills, and a caring attitude.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support children with diverse SEN requirements in classroom settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement personalized education plans.
  • Assist with daily tasks such as personal care and mobility as needed by the students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to achieve their full potential.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and SEN coordinators.
Requirements:
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or similar role within an SEN setting is essential.
  • A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning, is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices and strategies for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, patience, and a caring attitude.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different school environments.
  • An enhanced DBS check is required.
