Job Details

Local primary schools are seeking highly skilled and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to provide support to pupils with diverse SEN requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver tailored support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and learning disabilities in classroom and small group settings.
  2. Collaborate with teachers to develop individualized education plans and adapt teaching materials to meet each student's unique needs.
  3. Provide personal care, mobility assistance, and other daily tasks as necessary.
  4. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student achievement and potential.
  5. Track and document student progress, providing constructive feedback to teachers and SEN coordinators.
  6. Promote social and emotional development, encouraging students to build confidence and strong relationships with their peers.
  7. Work effectively with other staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
Key Requirements:
  1. Essential experience working as a Teaching Assistant, especially in SEN settings.
  2. Preferred: A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  3. Understanding of SEN best practices and strategies for supporting children with additional needs.
  4. Strong communication, patience, and a caring attitude.
  5. Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different school environments.
  6. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
