About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Support Specialist to join our team at Academics Ltd. As a Mental Health Classroom Assistant, you will work closely with children who have autism, attention difficulties, learning challenges, mental health concerns, and physical disabilities.

Your responsibilities will include preparing materials, providing personal care, and managing behavior if needed. Training will be provided if required. You will work with a small group of students, supporting the teacher and creating a positive learning space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare materials and resources to support student learning
  • Provide personal care and support as needed
  • Manage student behavior and de-escalate conflicts
  • Work closely with the teacher to develop individualized learning plans

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or adults with special educational needs is beneficial
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about supporting students
  • Skilled at motivating and engaging students
  • Kind, caring, and empathetic
  • Strong communication skills

Position Details:

Job Title: Mental Health Classroom Assistant

Location: Wokingham

Salary: £83 - £95 per day (based on experience, qualifications, and client rate)

Contract: Long-term temporary with potential for permanent placement

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

The estimated salary for this position is £43,515 - £49,500 per annum based on a 37-hour week.
