Mathematical Modelling Engineer

This is a highly technical role within the Performance Systems Department, reporting to the Team Leader-Mathematical Modelling. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing advanced algorithms, solvers, and mathematical models with a focus on car performance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rigid/flexible body kinematics/dynamics theory, standard simulation workflows, modern software development techniques, vehicle engineering processes, contributors to vehicle performance, and modern racing car design/architecture.
Responsibilities include working with Vehicle Performance and Dynamics Engineers in the development of the team's modelling and analysis tools and techniques, conducting research to assess alternative approaches to physics modelling and analysis, and proposing novel mathematical or computing approaches that balance competing requirements such as accuracy, stability, solve time and determinism for real-time deployments.
A minimum BSc in Mathematics, Computational Mechanics, or another STEM subject is required, along with substantial experience in applied mathematics. An MSc/PhD is preferred, as well as at least 3 years' experience in motor racing or mainstream automotive, vehicle dynamics/simulation/control. Experience with compiled and object-oriented programming languages is essential.
