About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our Acute Team and multi-disciplinary Stroke Rehabilitation Team as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant.

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting patients to regain their communication skills or learn alternative ways of communicating. You will work closely with therapists, nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery of speech and language therapy to patients under the direction of the Speech and Language Therapy team.
  • Help patients to regain their communication skills or learn alternative ways of communicating.
  • Support with administrative tasks, including making therapy resources and inputting data.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to patients.
Requirements
  • Level 3 NVQ qualification or equivalent.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise between tasks.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to deliver sensitive information.
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting and ability to work flexibly in a team environment.
