Environmental Health Specialist

About the Role
The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team, responsible for delivering a quality service on issues related to environmental health. This includes supporting wider activities such as nuisance and environmental crime regulations, as well as deputising and supporting the management functions of the Team Leader.
About You
We are seeking a highly motivated professional with skills in private sector housing legislation and proven experience in a housing enforcement or regulatory capacity. The ideal candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of private sector housing legislation, enabling them to make optimum use of civil penalties, rent repayment orders, and licensing powers to improve conditions and make a lasting impact on people's lives.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is estimated to be around £32,000-£38,000 per annum, depending on experience. The council offers a range of benefits, including 35 days annual leave (including 8 Bank Holidays and 3 extra days normally applied at Christmas), a generous Local Government Pension Scheme, flexi-time scheme, annual leave purchase scheme, subsidised parking, and more.
