About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced nuclear safety advisor to join our team at Atomic Weapons Establishment.

Job Description

As a nuclear safety advisor, you will provide expert guidance and operational support on safety matters related to facilities and programmes. You will ensure that company strategies, policies, and management system requirements for conventional health & safety are communicated and understood by staff. Your responsibilities will include maintaining high standards in Environment, Safety, Health, Security, and Quality, as well as producing health & safety documentation for projects and portfolios.

  • Ensure effective communication of health and safety policies and procedures to staff.
  • Maintain and promote high standards in ESHSQ across all areas.
  • Support local ESH Improvement Plans, focusing on culture and communications.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, such as NVQ Level 3 or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • iOSH Affiliate, Associate, or TechIOSH membership.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with industry knowledge.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in your approach to work.
  • Experience as a safety advisor in a high-hazard environment.
