Job Title: Research Assistant for Data Collection

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care. As part of the Green Algorithms Initiative, you will contribute to the design, rollout, and data analysis of an international multi-centre trial studying the effectiveness of carbon reporting tools in reducing the environmental impacts of research computing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and refine study methodology
  • Ensure proper ethics approval is obtained
  • Coordinate with different centres for data collection
  • Analyse and interpret resulting data

About the Team:

You will be part of a world-leading project in green computing, focusing on quantifying and reducing the environmental impacts of computational science through open-source resources. Our team has received both nominations and awards for its contributions to environmentally sustainable research.

Requirements:

  • MSc or PhD in Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Data Science, or a related subject
  • Strong understanding of study design and data analysis
  • Interest in the intersection between computing, science, and environmental sustainability

What We Offer:

Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD (or equivalent experience), including those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD. A degree (and/or Master's) in a relevant area or equivalent experience is also considered. This is a full-time position, and we welcome applications of no less than 60% FTE.
