Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Computational Biologist to join our team at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute. As a member of our research group, you will contribute to cutting-edge translational research designed to unravel the complex multicellular ecosystems that drive breast cancer.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in computational biology, immunology, or a related field, with expertise in data analysis and interpretation. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement novel computational methods for characterising human breast tumour ecosystems using imaging mass cytometry and sophisticated image processing.

We are assembling tissue imaging datasets of unprecedented depth and size in both observational studies and clinical trials. This will enable us to unmask spatial phenotypic traits that emerge during disease progression and treatment, and to identify those that drive prognosis and therapeutic response.

The main aim of this project is to characterise regulators of an immunosuppressive TME and their impact on immunotherapy response. You will work closely with our team to identify and validate potential therapeutic targets, and to develop predictive models of tumour behaviour.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative research environment, and to contribute to the development of new treatments for breast cancer.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field, and a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals. You will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, and be able to work independently as part of a collaborative research group.

We welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part-time working or other flexible working arrangements.

Please quote reference SW43061 on your application and in any correspondence about this vacancy.
