Sustainability Analyst in Computing

We are looking for a Sustainability Analyst in Computing to join our team at the University of Cambridge. In this role, you will play a crucial part in improving our understanding and mitigating the environmental impacts of scientific computing.

You will lead projects to improve how computing environmental impacts are estimated and reported, and investigate the impact of growing scientific fields through targeted case studies.

Your key responsibilities will include exploring ways to better integrate life-cycle analyses in these estimations, expanding environmental impacts beyond carbon footprints, and quantifying the estimates' uncertainty.

This research will contribute significantly to making computing more sustainable by improving the reporting of computing impacts and shedding light on the carbon footprint of specific fields.

The ideal candidate will have an MSc or PhD (or equivalent experience) in computer science, applied informatics, sustainability, or other related subject, with a strong interest in the intersection between computing, science, and environmental sustainability.

The salary for this position is around £**35,000-40,000 per annum**, based on location and experience.
