Job Overview

BigCommerce, a leading e-commerce platform, is seeking an experienced Senior Account Executive to drive sales revenue by acquiring new high-value enterprise clients.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a seasoned sales professional to join our growing sales team. As a Senior Account Executive, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving sales revenue through new client acquisition for £1M+ accounts
  • Actively managing the sales process, including positioning, presenting, and demoing the product, and closing sales
  • Acting as a territory owner and subject matter expert
  • Building and managing a book of business through outbound prospecting and inbound leads
  • Identifying each client's unique needs and cultivating effective sales strategies and proposals
  • Coordinating resources for implementation
  • Being the expert - providing e-commerce industry information to clients regarding web design, online marketing, e-commerce strategies, etc.
  • Meeting or exceeding sales targets and performance metrics
  • Being organized - maintaining a CRM with leads and effectively managing an account set, keeping detailed and accurate notes of all sales-related activities
  • Thinking like a CEO - communicating with management teams and team members to increase client satisfaction and conversion and drive overall sales improvements
  • Engaging closely with the BigCommerce Partner Ecosystem and Sales Engineering team to design solutions and close sales both over the phone and on-site, depending on client size and need

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 7+ years sales experience, including 3+ years technology sales experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with a focus on consultative solutions selling for a SaaS or e-commerce company
  • A demonstrated ability to drive complex sales with all stakeholders, including executive management and technical teams, and have successfully consistently achieved quotas and objectives within an outbound, client-acquisition-driven business
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and customer relationship skills
  • Strong Internet, email, and electronic document management skills
  • A basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and internet technologies (shopping carts, web hosting, email, and online marketing tools)
  • Technical understanding of software and the e-commerce space combined with strong business and sales acumen
  • Customer-focused and do the right things the right way every time
  • Results-oriented closer with a positive outlook and a clear focus on quality and business performance
  • Ability to provide consistent, accurate sales forecasts
  • Solution-oriented with the ability to identify and creatively solve complex problems to keep a sale on track
  • Healthy approach to handling rejection
