Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Education Specialist to join our team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Therapies Directorate, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering high-quality education and training programs for our Band 5 staff.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with our Clinical Service Leads, Professional Development Leads, and clinical teams to identify training needs and develop innovative solutions.

Main Duties
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for Band 5 staff, including face-to-face and online training sessions.
  • Work closely with clinical teams to identify training needs and develop tailored training solutions.
  • Collaborate with our Therapies Professional Development Leads to develop and implement an overarching competency framework and clinical skills toolkit.
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of the Therapies Education and Training passport.
  • Support the delivery of the Band 5 Forum and contribute to the planning and development of education and training for Band 5 staff.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of our clinical education needs and priorities.
  • Design and deliver high-quality training programs that meet the needs of our Band 5 staff.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to identify and address training gaps and develop innovative solutions.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with our Clinical Service Leads, Professional Development Leads, and clinical teams.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of education and training for Band 5 staff.
Requirements
  • HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist.
  • Experience of developing and delivering training to clinical staff and/or students and assistant staff.
  • Experience of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of competency frameworks.
  • Evidence of a high standard of clinical practice.
  • Ability to identify training needs of self and others.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and effective organisation and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to build effective relationships across the wider MDT.
  • Confident at working under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines.
