Renesas is seeking a highly skilled Safety-Critical Hardware Engineer to join our Functional Safety Competence Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing automotive hardware components, such as microcontrollers and system-on-chip, to ensure they meet the highest safety standards.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Technical Assessment: Conduct thorough technical assessments of automotive hardware components to identify potential safety risks.

2. Safety Analysis: Provide independent safety analysis for hardware products, ensuring they can withstand and operate safely in the presence of random hardware faults.

3. Fault Injection Simulations: Design and execute fault injection simulations to guide hardware design and improve its robustness against random hardware faults.

4. Global Collaboration: Collaborate closely with global teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

1. Educational Background: An honours degree in Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a closely related discipline.

2. Work Experience: Experience in digital or analogue semiconductor hardware design, with a focus on Functional Safety and microcontroller design.

3. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to assess hardware safety and guide design improvements.

4. Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with international and multicultural colleagues.

5. Motivation for Skill Development: A strong desire to continuously develop your skills and knowledge to stay current with evolving safety standards and technologies.

6. Teamwork and Initiative: Ability to work effectively within a team and take initiative when needed.
