About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team at Buckinghamshire Council. As an HR Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our managers with day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with best practices and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing employee relations, including resolving conflicts and addressing performance issues
  • Overseeing absence management, including monitoring attendance and implementing return-to-work plans
  • Leading recruitment efforts, including developing job descriptions and conducting interviews
  • Ensuring smooth onboarding and offboarding processes, including completing necessary paperwork and conducting exit interviews
  • Collaborating with the payroll team to ensure accurate monthly payroll processing
  • Contributing to HR projects aimed at improving processes and enhancing the employee experience

About You:

  • Chartered Member of Institute of Personnel and Development
  • First Degree or equivalent
  • A detailed practical knowledge of Employment Law and Good Employment Practices
  • Computer literate
  • Further Education or Local Government experience
  • Unionised environments experience
  • A good understanding of Equality and Diversity Legislation
  • A good understanding of, and demonstrable commitment to, Safeguarding children and Young People (Every Child Matters) and Vulnerable Adults
