About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team at Buckinghamshire Council. As an HR Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our managers with day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with best practices and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary procedures
  • Oversee absence management, including sickness and leave policies
  • Lead recruitment efforts, including job postings and candidate selection
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate monthly payroll processing
  • Contribute to HR projects aimed at improving processes and enhancing the employee experience

About You

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in HR, preferably with experience in a similar role. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with managers and employees.

Requirements

  • Chartered Member of Institute of Personnel and Development
  • First Degree or equivalent
  • Detailed practical knowledge of Employment Law and Good Employment Practices
  • Computer literate
  • Further Education or Local Government experience
  • Unionised environments experience
  • Good understanding of Equality and Diversity Legislation
  • Good understanding of, and demonstrable commitment to, Safeguarding children and Young People (Every Child Matters) and Vulnerable Adults
