Executive Director for Retail and E-commerce

Corecruitment is seeking an experienced Executive Director to join their client's retail and e-commerce business. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in the retail and e-commerce sectors, with expertise in both the US and UK markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic oversight and challenge the executive team on key business decisions.
  • Offer insights and guidance on trends, opportunities, and challenges in the retail and e-commerce markets.
  • Ensure the business adheres to the highest standards of corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Act as a sounding board for the CEO and senior management, offering independent advice on leadership, operations, and market expansion.
  • Support the company's efforts to expand its market share in both the US and UK, with a focus on customer acquisition, retention, and digital innovation.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record as a senior executive or board member in the retail and/or e-commerce sectors, with significant exposure to both the US and UK markets.
  • In-depth understanding of the retail and digital commerce landscapes, including consumer behaviour, supply chain dynamics, online retail strategies, and digital transformation.
  • Ability to provide high-level strategic direction, helping the company navigate complex challenges and capitalise on growth opportunities in the US and UK.
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance principles and boardroom dynamics, with experience ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth or market expansion across both the US and UK, with an understanding of the cultural, economic, and legal differences between the two regions.
  • Strong financial literacy, with the ability to review financial statements and provide input on financial planning and budgeting.
  • Experience in leading or advising on digital transformation initiatives, e-commerce platform development, and leveraging technology for business growth.
