Medical Receptionist

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team at Primary Care Careers. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.
Main Responsibilities- Greet and direct patients as they arrive for appointments, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.
- Manage incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Process repeat prescription requests and coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
- Make appointments for practice patients with the appropriate healthcare professional, utilizing our electronic medical records system.
- Process requests for home visits and coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient care.
- Deliver messages and communicate with patients and healthcare professionals as needed.
- Process non-NHS claim forms and private referral letters, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
- Collect fees for non-NHS work and maintain accurate records.
- Update patient computer records as required, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Inform patients of test and investigation results, providing clear and concise explanations.
- Test the clarity of telephone messages in accordance with practice procedures.
- Receive specimens from patients and batch delivery to collection points.

Requirements- GCSEs or equivalent in maths and English.
- Customer Service experience, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care.
- General computer skills, with experience using electronic medical records systems.
- Call centre experience, with a focus on handling high-volume calls and providing exceptional customer service.
- Medical Receptionist and EMIS Web experience is an advantage, but not essential.
